The Dolphins
a Recreational Swim Team Program
at Northwood Park Pool #4
The purpose of the swim team program at Northwood Park Pool #4 is three fold:
1. Introduction to the competitive swim environment
2. Endurance swimming
3. Stroke technique and refinement
The season is 10 weeks long and culminates in three competitive events:
1. Pool #4 only "practice" swim meet is in early July
2. Pool #4 vs. Milpitas and San Jose Country Club in mid July
3. Pool #4 team members in the Milpitas Swim Olympics in early August
Because swimmers of all swim levels are welcome to participate, competition and "wins" are the least stressed components of the program. Serious competitive swimmers are encouraged to use this program as a precursor to more competitive groups and school swim teams.
Practices are one hour long and meet twice weekly on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 5:30-6:30pm or 6:30-7:30pm. Members are encouraged to workout an additional 2-3 hours per week to help increase endurance.
Fees: $60 per season, of which $15 will be a non-refundable insurance fee.
Fees will be collected during the first week of practice.
Dates: Swim Team practice begins on Tuesday, June 16, 2009
Swim Team end of the summer party will be on August 11, 2009 from 5:30 to 7:30pm.

basic lifeguarding skills. After taking the class, junior lifeguards will have an understanding of lifeguarding
save techniques, CPR, rescue breathing, first aid and general procedures at Pool #4. Junior lifeguards are not
certified by Red Cross Standards, but we hope that all trained junior lifeguards will assist our staff by working
